Largs Golf Club - Largs - 6.99 miles
Largs Golf Club is a long-established private golf club with a superb 18-hole parkland course, situated in front of Kelburn Castle in the west of Scotland on the Firth of Clyde. On the west or shore side there are fine views from many of the holes of the Firth of Clyde with the islands of Cumbrae, Bute and Arran in the background, with Arran's Goat Fell and the 'Sleeping Warrior' dominating the landscape. On the east and south sides there are finely wooded slopes and the beauty of the course is enhanced by many mature trees. The features of a parkland course such as winding burns, lush fairways, tree-lined dog-legs and undulating greens are very much in evidence.
Lamlash Golf Club - Lamlash - 14.22 miles
Lamlash Golf Course is a delightful Par 64 - 18 hole, golf course. Although quite short in distance, measuring at some 4,640 yds, it offers a serious challenge for golfers of all abilities. An example of the challenge set can be seen in the fact that it has many long Par 3's, including two measuring over 220 yds. In addition to these lengthy Par 3's, Lamlash offers many tricky Par 4 holes where an off-centre tee shot will more than likely never be seen again. Set on the hillside above the village of Lamlash on the Isle of Arran, there are some spectacular views overlooking the Clyde Estuary and the Ayrshire coast, including famous courses such as Royal Troon & Turnberry.
Bute Golf Club - Rothesay - 14.37 miles
Close to the sands of Stravannan Bay on Bute's west coast, Bute Golf Club's 9 hole course provides a delightful location in a rural setting with the dramatic backdrop of the mountains of Arran. The course although only nine holes offers an array of challenges from the tricky 2nd over the wall to negotiating the burn at the short 3rd and the hillocks at the 8th.Situated near Stravannan Bay on Bute's west coast you could class Bute Golf Club as unique. Change at the road end throw the golf bag over the shoulder and proceed to walk through Quochag farm. After a five minute walk through a couple of fields you get to the last gate that gets you into the course. Our club house is a very quaint small cabin.
